No Safe Word publishes serialized romance fiction — including adult content — for a Black South African audience, on our website and across our social channels. We're looking for authors who can write bold, culturally grounded stories our readers can't put down.
You keep writing; we handle the publishing, the images, the audience, and the payments. You earn a share of the revenue every time a reader genuinely reads your work.
What you earn
- 60% of your share of revenue. Every paying subscriber's monthly fee is split across the authors that reader actually read that month — the more your stories are read, the more you earn. One-off story purchases go to that story's author.
- Paid on qualified reads. A qualified read is a signed-in reader reaching 60% of a chapter, counted once per reader, per chapter, per month.
- Monthly statements & EFT payouts once your unpaid balance reaches R200 (it rolls over until then).
- Limited-time offer: selected new authors also receive a once-off R1,000 signing advance — a recoupable credit against your future royalties that you never have to pay back. Offered to a limited number of early authors, for a limited time, at our discretion.
How it works

- We produce and publish your stories; reads and royalties accrue automatically.
