About this story
My rules for one-night stands were simple: never have them. Then I broke my own rule with a man from an app, woke up alone, and found myself unmatched by morning. Fine. Lesson learned. Except that same night, I walked into my sister's rehearsal dinner — and there he was. The best man. My partner for the aisle. He says he didn't unmatch me; he deleted the whole app, like that's somehow better. He has conditions. I have conditions. The pact is two nights and two items off my list, and absolutely no feelings, because he flies home Monday. What the pact doesn't cover: the way he texts me that he misses me in the middle of the salon, or my cousin walking out of the men's bathroom at the wedding with my ex on her arm. Two men want me now. One of them gets the aisle. And I have to choose before the music starts.
