About this story
A weekend away is supposed to be uncomplicated: sea air, hotel cocktails and two best friends catching their breath after a brutal term. But when the receptionist gives Zinhle, Naledi and Siyabonga a room with only one queen bed, the night begins rearranging every secret they brought with them. Naledi has no clue that Zinhle and Siyabonga have been quietly sleeping together for months. She only knows she has a crush on him and a thin slice of hope that proximity might do what courage has not. Zinhle knows something far worse: the man Naledi wants is close enough to touch, and he has never been very good at leaving Zinhle alone. By the time the lights go out, there is nowhere left to hide—not even under the duvet. A black satin eye mask, a white hotel bed and a single hand moving in the dark may be all it takes to turn a private arrangement into a choice nobody can undo.
