"This is the most hungover I have ever been."

"Yoh. No," Sibisi disagrees. "This is the most hungover I have ever been."

Naledi laughs quietly to herself as she parks the X5 in the players' parking at Ellis Park, and I could not be happier that the car has finally stopped moving. I've been focusing on not throwing up all morning. The drive did not help.

"You two need to get your shit together." Naledi reaches into the back seat, handing me a black coffee before she does the same for her equally destroyed husband in the passenger seat. "Throw back a Grandpa, get that coffee into you, and put on your best captain-and-vice-captain smiles. It's going out live on SABC."

Swallowing down a joke about her being our mother after too many nights out, I tip the powder back and chase it with a mouthful of coffee.

Last night was insane, in the best possible way.

I kissed that trophy, held it over my head, and then took a magnum of Moët over the head in the changeroom. The boys all went back to Elton's rented place in Bryanston, where it carried on until it got light. We slept barely at all, and we left the house looking like a res room after a jol. It was one of the best nights of my life.

The only thing missing was Vuyi, but I took Naledi's advice and lived it, one last time, with my teammates.
