About Masego Phiri
For twelve years, Masego Phiri was a personal assistant to three company bosses in a Sandton tower. She kept their diaries and their secrets. She learned early that the person with the power is not always the one whose name is on the door.
Now she writes about it. Masego's books are four chillies on our spice meter: lots of sex, written in full, and more daring than most. There are power games, rules that get broken, and sometimes more than two people in the room. Her stories happen in places she knows: the boardroom after nine at night, the hotel suite the company paid for, the lift down to the car park at midnight.
Some of her books are South African editions of novels first published overseas, retold so they belong here, with the money in rand and the people Black South Africans with real jobs. Every book has pictures, and chapter one is always free.
Writing Philosophy
Every boss I worked for thought he was in charge. That's what made it fun. I write about power because every room has it: who wants what, who is allowed to ask, and what happens when someone stops asking. My women know what they are worth. When they say yes, they mean all of it.
